Stockbridge Decorators is a family-run business in Edinburgh. Our painters and decorators have several decades of professional experience in the trade between them, and we take on all aspects of residential and commercial interior and exterior painting and decorating.
That means the person who quotes your job is connected to the people who turn up to do it. There is no call centre in between, and no subcontractor you have never met arriving on the first morning.
We work with the materials that suit the job rather than the ones with the best margin, and we would rather tell you a wall needs skimming than paper over it and let you find out in two years.
Careful preparation is the least photogenic part of decorating and the part that decides everything. Cracks, cornice, loose plaster and old paper get dealt with first, and only then does the finish go on.
Protection is the other half. Rooms get sectioned off, dust sheets get replaced daily rather than shaken out and reused, and we keep the parts of a house or a building you actually need in use while the job runs.
We like Farrow & Ball water-based paints and use them where they suit the job: low or minimal VOC, child and baby safe, environmentally sensible and hard-wearing in a house that is lived in.
We choose local, eco-friendly and cruelty-free products where we can, and we recycle 100% of our plastic and metal waste rather than skipping it.
