Period rooms need patience. High ceilings, deep cornice, sash windows and walls that have been papered and painted for a century all take preparation before a brush comes near them. That is where most of the finish is decided.

Yes, and we often do. Areas are sectioned off, dust sheets are replaced daily and we keep the parts of the house you need in use. On one recent townhouse job the family stayed put for the full three weeks.
Whatever suits the surface and the room. We like Farrow & Ball water-based paints and use them often: they are low or minimal VOC, child and baby safe, and they wear well. Estate emulsion on walls and ceilings, acrylic water-based eggshell on woodwork and doors, is a common specification.
Yes. Preparation is a large part of what we do: crack and cornice repair, patching, plastering, skim coating, priming and AMES taping of plasterboard seams. Sometimes stripping paper reveals walls that need skimming rather than lining, and we will tell you when that is the case.
Yes. We work on commercial interiors and exteriors as well as homes, including fire protection coating applied to the thickness your certification requires.
